What they’ve done
Having applied to become a BCorp in 2021, AUK have brought purpose into the centre of company culture and how they relate to clients and the community.
Embedding this in their work has involved challenging decisions and learning at all levels within the company, taking intention into reality across the business. This is not about the ‘nice-to-have’ but work that defines the brand.
Here’s some of what they’ve done:
Become carbon neutral – through emission monitoring, carbon reduction and through Ecologi’s offsetting programme
Created a programme for new staff that explores all aspects of personal and professional development in response to the pressures felt during covid. This blends group coaching, psychotherapy, personal growth, and hands-on experience.
AUK’s event space in central Bath regularly hosts community events and meetups to build a community of practice around ethical companies
AUK take on pro bono clients throughout the year, putting the team's skills to new contexts and offering capacity to organisations such as Off the Record (Bristol) of the Marmalade Trust
Became beekeepers, hosting hives at their HQ. This collaboration with a local bee expert created a medium for staff and the local community to connect through stewardship of nature.
